Berlin · founder, operator, investor
I start things — and I back the people who start things.
I've spent the better part of thirty years in and around new companies. In 1999 I co-founded alando, which became eBay in Germany; I ran eBay there in the years after. Later I co-founded the donation platform betterplace.org.
These days I work at the earliest stage. I'm a managing director at APX, the Berlin accelerator backed by Axel Springer and Porsche, and an angel investor in a handful of companies I believe in. My own work lives under HEARTFELT.
This little corner is separate from all that — somewhere to keep personal things, written in plain markdown and made tasteful by a design system I tend to in my spare time.
